Unlock the transformative power of ageless wisdom and creative expression in our virtual class. This 8-week immersive experience draws inspiration from two remarkable works on creativity: “12 Notes On Life and Creativity” by Quincy Jones and “It’s Never Too Late to Begin Again” by Julia Cameron. Participants will engage in their choice of practical artistic techniques, ranging from collage, expressive writing and mindfulness practices, enabling them to express their creativity across various art mediums. This course provides a unique opportunity to explore the intersections of personal growth, artistic exploration, and a deeper connection with oneself. Each week we will delve into key themes and practices from the selected books, fostering a supportive and enriching environment for participants to thrive creatively.
Sharon Burton of Spark Your Creative Coaching is serving as a Teaching Artist for Art Works Now and will be facilitating this course. This is a completely FREE program for ages 55 and better! Learn more about Art Works Now Creative Aging Programs here.
About Art Works Now
Mindful of the relationship between creative education and the creative development of our community, Art Works Now, a community-based, non-profit arts organization remains committed to teaching art technique, encouraging each student to “see” in their own way, and providing multiple opportunities to explore, express and demonstrate their vision. Art Works Now offers a “blank canvas” for every student to develop their individual creativity. They provide the tools, techniques, and a great studio space, along with instruction that encourages creative exploration, and peers for encouragement and collaboration.
Art Works Now was founded and established in Mount Rainier, Maryland in 2011. Art Works Now believes that art works, on both the individual and community levels. By providing an avenue for students to envision, create, and exhibit their artwork, they are able to realize this vision in a tangible and holistic way.
